According to Steve Jobs, there is one thing that separates the doers from the dreamers. When Steve was 12 years old, he wanted to build a frequency counter but was lacking some parts. Instead of giving up, he got the phone book out and he looked up Bill Hewllet’s number and gave him a call.

Steve was surprised. The co-founder Hewllet Packard answered the phone. After Steve explained what he was up to, Bill agreed to give Steve some spare parts. Bill also offered Steve a summer job at HP.

SO WHAT ARE THE LESSONS?

THE LESSONS ARE…

  • You have to act – this separates the doers from the dreamers.

  • You have to be willing to fail.  Steve made that call knowing that he may not have got what he wanted.

  • It’s up to you to get what you want. No one is going to come to you. Forgot any negativity that creeps in and take that chance!

  • If you don’t ask, you don’t get.
